On 07.01.2026, the following order was passed: "1. Learned counsel representing the Petitioner submits that the cause of continuing the present Petition survives after a period of 20 years.
2. None appears for the Respondent.
3. The Registry is directed to issue fresh Notice to the Respondent via all permissible modes, returnable on 27.01.2026.
4. It shall be the responsibility of the Petitioners to furnish the current address of the Respondent with the Registry, along with the process fee, within a period of one week, to enable the Registry to issue Notice to the Respondent."

Learned counsel representing the Petitioner submits that she is unable to make any statement whether the cause for continuing the present writ petition survives or not.

The writ petition is pending for last more than 21 years. As per the order passed by Central Administrative Tribunal, the respondent was held entitled to encashment of 180 days of earned leave. 4.
