This is a petition filed under section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 ('BNSS') seeking quashing of FIR No. 339/2024 dated 03.06.2024, registered at PS Palam Village, Delhi under sections 506/509 IPC, 1860 and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom. 2.

The facts are that the petitioner and respondent no. 2 had a close friendship and were in talks of getting married, however certain disputes arose between the parties which led to the registration of FIR No. 339/2024. 3.

During the pendency of the proceedings, both the parties have arrived at a settlement on 14.08.2024, wherein respondent No. 2 has agreed to settle all her disputes with the petitioner and has also agreed to cooperate in the quashing of the FIR No. 339/2024.

PS Palam Village. Respondent No. 2 is also present and is identified by Mr. Vinod Pal, Adv. and SI Ajeet Singh, PS Palam Village. 5.

Respondent No.2 states that she has no grievance against the petitioner and has no objection, if the FIR in question is quashed. 6.

Both the parties state that they have entered into the aforesaid settlement out of their own free will, volition and without any threat, force, undue influence or coercion.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure the ends of justice. This court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 8.

For the reasons noted above, FIR No. 339/2024 dated 03.06.2024, registered at PS Palam Village, Delhi under sections 506/509 IPC, 1860 and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom is hereby quashed. 9.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
