By way of the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 0369/2025, registered at Police Station Mahendra Park, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 64(1)/69/123/351 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 'BNS') on the basis of settlement arrived at between the parties and wherein both the parties have married to each other on 14.08.2025. 2.

The status report has been filed by the State verifying the factum of marriage between the parties.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned from Police Station Mahendra Park.

Brief facts of the case are that on 27.06.2025, the complainant had lodged the present FIR against the petitioner/accused on the allegations that The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. the complainant and the accused were in a relationship, however, the accused had induced the complainant to engage in physical relations on the pretext of marriage. It is stated that respondent no. 2 has settled all her disputes with the petitioner and she has got married to the petitioner on 14.08.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Respondent no. 2 further states that she and the petitioner have been living together. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0369/2025, registered at Police Station Mahendra Park, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 64(1)/69/123/351 of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of above, the present petition stands disposed of. 9.
