The petitioner is stated to be in custody for more than 6 years and till date only 6 witnesses have been examined. The Court has perused the report received from the learned Trial Judge explaining the reasons for the delay. 2.

At this stage, Mr. Surya Pratap Singh, learned counsel who appears for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the bail application. 3.

The statement made by learned counsel is taken on record and application is dismissed as withdrawn.

However, considering the fact that applicant has been in custody for more than 6 years but examination of witnesses is not complete, learned trial court is directed to complete the trial within a period of 6 months and petitioner is granted liberty that in case the trial is not concluded in the aforesaid time frame, he may, if so advised, approach this Court and file bail application afresh.
