The present petition under Section 29A (4) read with 29A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred as the A&C Act) seeks extension of time for completion of arbitral proceedings and for making the arbitral award.

The arbitration proceedings commenced pursuant to the order dated 05.01.2023 passed in ARB.P. No. 826/2022. The said order, inter alia, states as under:- "6. As the existence of the Arbitration Agreement and due invocation thereof are not contested, accordingly, I appoint Mr. Alakh Kumar, Advocate (Mobile:9811063763) as the Sole Arbitrator for adjudicating the disputes that have arisen between the parties in relation to the above-mentioned Agreements. The learned Sole Arbitrator shall give the disclosure in terms of Section 12 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 before entering into the reference."

It is averred in the present petition thatthe arbitration proceedings are at an advanced stage, and cross-examination of the claimant is underway. 4.

Issue notice.

Learned counsel, as aforesaid, enters appearance and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

Having considered the averments made in the petition and having heard respective counsel for the parties, this court finds no impediment in allowing the present petition.

Accordingly, the present petition is allowed. The time for completion of arbitration proceedings and making of the arbitral award is extended by a period of four months from today.

The present petition stands disposed of.
