By way of present writ petition, the petitioner seeks directions to release him on the second spell of furlough for a period of three weeks on the ground that the petitioner's wife is expecting and the expected date of delivery is 14.10.2024.

The petitioner further claims that his application/representation seeking release on the second spell of furlough for two weeks was filed before the competent authority vide application dated 13.08.2024, a copy of which has also been placed on record.
