This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 102/2023 PS Karawal Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act basis settlement between the parties. The petitioner No.5 and respondent No.2 got married and there was marital discord which resulted in a registration of this FIR. With intervention of friends and relatives, the issues have now been resolved and an MoU has been entered into on 05th September, 2024, which is on record of this Court. The couple have now settled their disputes and are living together with each other on terms of the settlement as agreed.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No. 102/2023 PS Karawal Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 4.
Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 5.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
