versus UNION OF INDIA AND ORS.

..... Respondent Through Mr.Arun Bhardwaj, CGSC with Mr.Nikhil Bhardwaj, Adv.

CORAM:

HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE HIMA KOHLI HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE REKHA PALLI

O R D E R

% 23.07.2018 1.

The petitioners 29 in number have filed the present petition praying inter alia for issuance of directions to the respondent/CRPF to consider them for promotion to the post of Second-in-Commandant (General Duty) w.e.f. from the date when vacancies became available, with all consequential benefits.

2.

Mr.Arun Bhardwaj, learned counsel for the respondents states on instructions, that all the 29 petitioners had become eligible for promotion in April 2017, which factual position is not denied by learned counsel for the petitioner. He further states that all the 29 petitioners stand promoted w.e.f. 19.03.2018 and none who were junior to them, were promoted before them.

W.P.(C) 2521/2018

3.

This being the position, we see no reason to continue with the present petition any further as we do not find any merit in the plea of the counsel for the petitioner that there has been unexplained delay on the part of the respondent/CRPF in promoting the petitioners, when admittedly, they became eligible for promotion only in April, 2017. 4.

The petition is disposed of alongwith pending applications. HIMA KOHLI, J REKHA PALLI, J JULY 23, 2018 sr W.P.(C) 2521/2018
