This petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of order dated 26th November 2020.

The issue relates to providing necessary security cover to the petitioner, since he was a witness in the CBI case. 3.

Directions had been passed in the impugned order that the security cover be extended till the CBI informs Delhi Police, that they do not require the petitioner as their witness.

It is informed by Mr. Amit Tiwari, Central Government Standing Counsel that the petitioner is no longer required as a witness in the CBI matter.

Moreover, a direction had been passed on 21st October 2024 by the Predecessor Bench, that a letter had been written by the petitioner to DCP Special Cell for conducting a fresh exercise, for ascertaining threat perception to the life and liberty of the petitioner. 6.

Accordingly, it was directed that in four weeks' time, the assessment ought to be carried out.

Mr. Tiwari, handed up a letter dated 20th December 2024, issued by DCP, Special Cell, Delhi stating that an inquiry in the matter has been conducted through the Special Cell (SR), which has revealed that threat to the assessee is not genuine.

A copy of the letter has been handed up to Senior Counsel for petitioner, who seeks to withdraw this petition, with liberty to seek his remedies, in accordance with law, with respect to this assessment. 9.

Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
