This Petition under Section 29A(4) and 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the Petitioner for extension of time period for making of the Arbitral Award by the Hon'ble Arbitral Tribunal. 2.

Material on record indicates that vide order dated 28.07.2023 issued by Dy. Secretary (LA), the Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Delhi nominated Special Secretary, Land & Building Department, GNCTD Delhi as Arbitrator. The Arbitrator proceedings listed before the Ld. Arbitrator for the first time on 08.01.2024.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner prays for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making of the Arbitral Award. 4.

In the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Ld. Arbitrator for a period of six months so that the award can be pronounced.
