respondent no.1- Bank scheduled to be held on 06th October, 2024. The petitioners further pray for consequent rejection of the nominations filed by respondents no.2, 3, 4 & 5 on the ground that they are patently illegal. 4.
This Court is of the view that it is settled law that the elections should be concluded as early as possible according to the time schedule and all controversial matters and all disputes arising out of the elections should be postponed till after the elections are over, so that the elections proceedings may not be unduly retarded or protracted. (See- N.P. Ponnuswami vs. Returning Officer, Namakkal Constituency and Others, (1952) 1 SCC 94. 5.
Consequently, the present writ petition and application are dismissed with liberty to the petitioners to challenge the order of the Returning Officer after the election process is over.
