This application seeks reduction of surety amount which was directed by this Court, while granting bail to the petitioner, by order dated 11th November 2024 in FIR No.65/2018 under Sections 307/34, IPC registered at PS Maurice Nagar. By the said order, bail was granted to petitioner on furnishing personal bond in the sum of Rs.50,000/- with one surety of the like amount, along with other directions.

It is stated in the application, that petitioner has not been able to secure release since he has been incarcerated for about 6 years and prior to that, he was doing labour (POP work) and used to earn Rs.10,000/- to Rs.12,000/- per month. years. Reduction of personal bond and surety bond is therefore, pleaded to Rs. 10,000/- each.

Keeping in mind the directions and guidelines issued by the Supreme Court In Re Policy Strategy for Grant of Bail 2023 SCC OnLine SC 483, the application is allowed and it is directed that petitioner be released on furnishing personal bond in sum of Rs.10,000/- with one surety of the like amount, subject to satisfaction of the Trial Court. Rest of the bail conditions, as noted in para 14 of the order dated 11th November 2024, shall remain the same.
