Present writ petition has been filed seeking quashing of the order dated 23rd September, 2024 passed by Respondent No.3/Returning Officer accepting the nomination filed by Respondents No.2 for the forthcoming elections of the Respondent No.1-Bank scheduled to be held on 06th October, 2024.

This Court is of the view that it is a settled law that elections should be concluded as early as possible according to the time schedule and all controversial matters and all disputes arising out of elections should be postponed till after the elections are over so that the election proceedings may not be retarded or protected. (See- N.P/ Pannuswami vs. Returning Officer, Namakkal Constituency and others, (1952) 1 SCC 94). Consequently, the present writ petition and applications are dismissed with liberty to the Petitioners to challenge the order of the Returning Officer after the election process is over.
