The present public interest petition has been filed seeking issuance of directions to the respondents to implement Medico Legal Examination and a Postmortem Reports System ("MedLEaPR") project in Delhi in a time bound manner, on similar lines as in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. The petitioner further seeks issuance of directions to the Respondents to declare the post of Forensic Doctor as a sensitive post and direct compulsory rotational transfer of all Forensic Doctors working in the Mortuaries/Forensic Medicine Department in Delhi every three years so as to prevent development of vested interests and unholy nexus. A perusal of the paper book reveals that the Petitioner has made a representation dated 20th August, 2024 to the Respondent which has not been decided till date.
