The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking directions to respondent to place the application/representation made by the petitioner before the Selection Committee constituted in terms of rule 1318 of Delhi Prison Rule, 2018 for consideration of the representation of the petitioner. 2.

The Ld. Counsel for the petitioner submits that has undergone incarceration of approximately 16 years in actual and about 20 years 8 months including remission out of the imprisonment for life and fine. She states that on 19.04.2025, petitioner made representation to the Inspector General of the Prisons and Chairman, Semi Open Prison, Tihar Jail. representation has not been decided till date. 3.

The Ld. Counsel further submits that petitioner from time to time has always complied with the conditions imposed at the time of grant of parole/furlough.

The Ld. Standing Counsel submits that the conduct of the petitioner has not been good in jail and many a times punishment tickets were issued against him. She further submits that the meeting of the Selection Committee is conducted thrice in a year but she is not aware of the next date of the meeting. She has no objection if the directions be issued for placing the application for consideration before the Selection Committee. 5.

In view of the aforesaid, the present petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent to place the representation/application of the petitioner in the next meeting of Selection Committee for consideration as per rules.
