The present writ petition has been filed praying for direction to the respondent nos. 1 and 2, to expeditiously dispose, in a time bound manner, the application dated 26th August, 2024, filed by the petitioner under Section 68 of the Electricity Act, 2003.

Learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that respondent nos. 1 and 2, have failed to take any decision upon the application of the petitioner till date, on account of which the present petition has been filed.

has instructions to confine the prayer in the present writ petition, to only prayer (a).

Prayer (a) of the present writ petition reads as under: "xxx xxx xxx (a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to expeditiously and fully process and decide the Section 68 Application dated 26.08.2024 filed by the Petitioner in a time bound manner, and strictly in accordance with the Electricity Act and the 2024 GIB Order;

Perusal of the aforesaid prayer (a) as sought by the petitioner shows that the only relief as sought by way of the aforesaid prayer is for processing and deciding the application of the petitioner dated 26th August, 2024. 6.
Accordingly, considering the submissions made before this Court, it is directed that the application of the petitioner, as aforesaid, shall be decided by the respondents within a time bound manner, preferably, within a period of ten weeks from today.

In case, if required, hearing shall also be granted to the authorized representatives of the petitioner during the time of considering the application of the petitioner.

Needless to state, in case the petitioner is aggrieved by any order passed by the respondents or non-consideration of the application of the petitioner, the petitioner is at liberty to seek remedies, in accordance with law.
