The case is taken up today as 25.11.2025 was declared holiday on the occasion of 350th anniversary of 'Guru Teg Bahadur's Martyrdom Day'. 2.

By way of the present petition, the petitioner are seeking following prayer:

"a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ/order/direction directing Respondents No. 1 & 2 to provide immediate police protection to the Petitioners to safeguard their life and liberty from Respondents No. 3 and their associates;

b) Issue a Writ in the nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction , directing Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to forthwith provide round-the-clock police protection , including but not limited to deployment of Personal Security Officers ( PSOs) or a mobile patrol unit, to the Petitioners and their minor son at their residence and during movements, to safeguard against any harm or threat from Respondent Nos. 3-9, and their associates, and /or;"
