The present petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.276/2018 registered under Sections 323/354/451/506/509 IPC at P.S. Palam Village, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes.

As per the allegations levelled in the FIR, the petitioner forcefully entered into respondent No.2's house, abused her and touched her inappropriately, causing her mental distress. 3.

It is stated that the matter is arising out of a matrimonial dispute inasmuch as the complainant/respondent No.2 is the elder sister of the wife of the petitioner.

Learned APP for the State submits that in the present case, the petitioner is the only accused and respondent No.2 is the complainant/victim. He further submits that the chargesheet has been filed. Learned counsels for the parties submit that the petitioner has entered into a settlement with his wife/respondent No.2's sister before the Counselling Cell, Family Court, Dwarka, Delhi on 05.07.2024 and in terms of the settlement, respondent No.2 does not wish to pursue any legal action against the petitioner herein and is now left with no claims or grievances whatsoever against the petitioner.

The petitioner and respondent No.2, who are present in Court, have been identified by their respective counsels as well as by the Investigating Officer.

The petitioner has shown remorse for his conduct and undertakes to not repeat the same in future. Respondent No.2 submits that she does not want to press the present FIR against the petitioner out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection if the present FIR and consequent proceedings are quashed. 8.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
