This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950 read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeks direction to the Respondent for considering the Petitioner's name for premature release in FIR No. 369/1995, registered at P.S. Mukherjee Nagar for the offence under Section 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The Petitioner is a life convict in this case, and has undergone more than 14 years of custody without remission.

It is contended that the Petitioner has become eligible for consideration for premature release in terms of the applicable policy; however, his request has not been examined by the Sentence Review Board. 3.
