The petitioner has filed this contempt petition, under Section 11 and 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, alleging non-compliance of the judgment of this Court dated 16.08.2024, by which CM APPL. 18267/2024 in W.P.(C) 3164/2024 was disposed of. The petitioner in the contempt petition is arrayed as petitioner No. 4 in the writ petition. 2.

It is the submission of the petitioner that the Wrestling Federation of India ["WFI"] [respondent No. 2 in the writ petition and in the contempt petition'], has issued a circular dated 24.09.2024 calling for selections for participation in the '2024 Senior World Wrestling The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

By the judgment dated 16.08.2024, this Court noticed the stand of Union of India that the order of suspension of the elected committee of WFI, issued on 24.12.2023, continues to be effective, and held that an adhoc committee which was constituted by an order of Indian Olympic Association dated 27.12.2023, continued to hold its mandate. The purported dissolution of the ad-hoc committee was unlawful. 4.

Mr. Rahul Mehra, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner, submits that, despite the judgment dated 16.08.2024, it is Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Singh, President, who is a part of the elected committee of the WFI, and not the ad-hoc committee, who has issued the impugned circular dated 24.09.2024.

The matter was passed over to enable Mr. Hemant Phalpher, learned counsel for WFI, to take instructions. He states, upon instructions from Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, that the impugned circular will be withdrawn in the course of the day, and the withdrawal will be communicated to all the recipients.

Mr. Mehra draws my attention to an order dated 07.03.2024 in the aforesaid writ petition, which points to a similar situation occurring earlier this year, where a circular dated 26.02.2024 was withdrawn by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh.

In view of the above circumstances, Mr. Phalpher submits that no such circulars will be issued by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh or any member part of the elected committee of WFI unless the Union of India withdraws the suspension order dated 24.12.2023, and so long as the judgement dated 16.08.2024 continues to hold the field. In view of the aforesaid undertaking, the Court for the present, does not consider it necessary to proceed with the contempt petition. The contempt petition is, therefore, disposed of, with the aforesaid directions. 9.

It is made clear that this order will not come in the way of the adhoc committee holding selections for the teams which would participate in the said championship.
