This petition has been filed for directions that the trial may proceed expeditiously in CC No.2157/2021 under Section 138 of the NI Act. Counsel for the petitioner states that the accused has been taking adjournments on one ground or the other and despite notice being issued in 2021, the complainant's evidence has been partially recorded. The matter is now listed on 22nd October, 2024.

Without commenting on the merits of the matter, the Trial Court can ensure that the trial is proceeded with expeditiously and the accused may not be granted unnecessary adjournments.
