The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, impugning a Show Cause Notice dated 05.03.2013 issued by the respondent calling upon the petitioner to file its written explanation and also appear in person or through a duly authorized representative competent to answer any query. The said show cause notice had been issued on an allegation that the petitioner was liable to pay the stamp duty on issuance of shares/debentures/bonds, which the petitioner has failed to do so. The petitioner has already filed its explanation in response to the impugned show cause notice.

Since, no order has been passed under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899,

this Court does not consider it apposite to interfere with the proceedings at this stage.

It is directed that the respondent shall consider the pleadings in the present petition as the petitioner's response to the issues raised. In addition, the petitioner may furnish further submissions within a period of four weeks from today.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. The petitioner is also at liberty to initiate appropriate proceedings if aggrieved by the order passed under the said Act.
