Present public interest petition has been filed seeking directions to the Respondents to build and repair the bus shelters at the designated bus stops in Delhi and provide the requisite infrastructure for the same. 2.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner states that the infrastructure of various bus stops in Delhi are in a very bad condition despite bus services still being the city's major mode of transport with approximately 25 lakh passengers commuting by bus every day.

He states that there are no proper shelters, benches, or bus route maps on bus stops and the said stops do not have the requisite accessibility requirements for differently abled citizens. on the main road for onboarding a bus, which results in traffic jams being caused.

He further states that owing to such facilities not being provided, commuters face multiple problems during summer and rainy season. He states that the problems are faced especially by people belong to the lower income group who are heavily reliant on bus services to commute within the city.

He also states that the Petitioner has submitted various representations to the Respondent authorities, with the latest representation dated 28th June, 2024 submitted to the Respondent No. 2, however, no appropriate action has been taken with regard to the same.

After hearing learned counsel from the Petitioner, and from a perusal of the paper book, it appears that the aforesaid grievances have been brought to the attention of the Respondent No. 2 vide representation dated 28th June, 2024. In light of the issues highlighted by the learned counsel for the Petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with direction to the Respondent No. 2 to treat the present writ petition as a representation and decide the same by way of a speaking order in an expeditious manner and to take the necessary action if required, in accordance with law. The rights and contentions of all the parties are left open.
