5.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 25.09.2017, on the complaint of representative of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners for unauthorized electricity usage. It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter before the Permanent Lok Adalat-II held on 14.12.2017 and a no due certificate has been issued by respondent no. 2 in favour of the petitioners. 6.

On a query made by this Court, the learned counsel for respondent no.2 has categorically stated that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and the petitioners have paid the entire outstanding dues. It is stated that respondent no. 2 has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

7.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 579/2017, dated 25.09.2017, registered at Police Station Vasant Kunj, New Delhi for the offences punishable under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003 and Section 379 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 9.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 10.

The order be uploaded on the website forthwith. DR. SWARANA KANTA SHARMA, J SEPTEMBER 17, 2025/A The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 20/09/2025 at 12:29:08
