O R D E R

By way of present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 0749/2018 registered under Sections 498A/34 IPC at P.S. Rajouri Garden, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes. 2.

The present FIR is an outcome of a matrimonial dispute between the complainant/respondent No. 2 (wife) and petitioner No. 1 (husband) and petitioner Nos. 2 & 3 are the father-in-law and mother-in-law of the complainant respectively.

Learned APP for the State submits that in the present case the petitioners are the only accused persons and respondent No. 2 is the only complainant/victim and the chargesheet has already been filed in this case. 4.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that they have entered into a settlement vide Settlement Deed dated 10.08.2023 before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.

The petitioners, who are present in the Court, are identified by their respective counsels as well as by the Investigating Officer/ASI Sanjay Kumar, P.S. Rajouri Garden, Delhi. Respondent No. 2 states that she has been living with her husband i.e., petitioner No. 1 since last one year and as of now she has no complaint against her husband.

Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and has been identified by the I.O. and states that she has settled her disputes with the petitioners out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection if the present FIR and the consequent proceedings are quashed.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements and undertaking made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.

With the above directions, the petition is disposed of alongwith miscellaneous application, if any.
