The Petitioner is a convict, and is undergoing life sentence in relation to case FIR No. 248/2010 for the offences under Sections 506/365/376(2)(g) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 25/27/54 of the Arms Act, 1959 registered at P.S. Dhaula Kuan. The Petitioner has applied for parole to attend to his elder brother, who suffered a snake bite and was subsequently hospitalized. Although the brother has been discharged, the Petitioner submits that he has not yet fully recovered and requires ongoing follow-up treatment. In the absence of any other caregiver, the Petitioner contends that he is necessary to provide care and support to his brother. 2.

In response, Mr. Sanjay Lao, SC for the State, submits that the Petitioner's application is pending consideration, and shall be decided within two weeks from today.
