The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(4) and 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of one year. 2.

It is submitted that the matter is at the stage of cross-examination of the claimant's witnesses.

Counsel appears on behalf of the respondent and supports the case of the petitioner. He submits that the extension is being sought for the first time.

Accordingly, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a further period of one year from today.

Counsel for the parties submit that the mandate had otherwise expired on 23rd July, 2025.
