This is a petition filed under section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of FIR No. 227/2017 dated 20.05.2017 filed u/s 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Maurya Enclave and proceedings emanating therefrom. 2.

During the pendency of the proceedings, parties have arrived at an oral settlement pursuant to which petitioner No. 1 and respondent No. 2 are living together.

Petitioner 1 is present in court and is identified by Ms. Sahiba Singh, Adv. Respondent No. 2 is present in Court and is identified by Mr. Yash Chaturvedi, Adv. and SI Sangeeta Malik, PS Maurya Enclave. 4.

own free will without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence and are living happily together.

I am of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the FIR any further on the ground that the parties have arrived at a voluntary settlement and settled their disputes. 6.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings as permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 7.

For the aforesaid reasons, FIR No. 227/2017 dated 20.05.2017 filed u/s 498A/406/34 of IPC registered at PS Maurya Enclave and proceedings emanating therefrom is hereby quashed.

The petition is disposed of.
