The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State, at the outset, submits that the prosecution evidence has almost come to an end.

He submits that the entire trial is likely to get over within a period of five to six months.

The FIR was registered way back in the year 2015. The chargesheet was also filed way back in the year 2022. Petitioner had been absconding and was finally arrested on 22.08.2022. 4.

Section 35 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 ('POCSO') provides expeditious disposal of the case which involves offences under POCSO Act. 5.

The applicant is at liberty to file an application afresh if the trial does not conclude within a period of six months. 7.
