The instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (now under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023) has been filed by the petitioner seeking following relief:- "Allow the present petition in favour of the Petitioner by passing appropriate orders/ directions as well as issuance of writs in the nature of mandamus or certiorari or any other applicable writ and/or directions or order to the Respondent thereby allowing premature release of the Petitioner"

At this juncture, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that in view of the statement made by the learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State on instructions, he does not wish to press the instant petition at this stage. 5.

In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the State to consider the petitioner's case on top priority in the first meeting which is to be held in near future and the outcome of the said meeting shall be communicated to the petitioner.
