By way of instant petition, the petitioners seek direction to respondent to provide them security and police protection, to restrain the accused persons from causing any harm to them or their property, as well as from approaching them.

Issue notice. The learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The facts of the present case are that on 01.08.2025, petitioner no.1 and his brothers were brutally attacked by accused Ahsan and his associates, who opened fire on them. The petitioner no. 1 had sustained a gunshot injury on his leg and is still undergoing medical treatment. In connection with the incident, FIR No. 0226/2025 was registered at Police Station Hazrat Nizamuddin wherein two accused have been arrested, while others are still absconding and pose a serious threat to the complainant's life and liberty. Subsequently, accused persons had lodged a false and fabricated FIR No.247/25 against the petitioner no. 1 with malafide intent, solely to harass him and weaken his genuine case. Further, it is alleged that Ahsan and his associates are continuously threatening petitioner no.1 and his brothers with dire consequences. They are attempting to falsely implicate them in criminal cases to pressurize them into withdrawing the original case. As a result of these threats and false cases, the petitioner no.1 and his family members are living under constant fear and mental trauma.. 6.
The learned Standing Counsel for the State, on instructions from the IO, states that a report regarding the complaint of the petitioners already stands filed on which necessary action, if so required, will be taken by the concerned police station.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned Standing Counsel for State/respondent.

The petitioners have prayed for protection of their life from accused persons. The right to life and liberty is a Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the instant case merits the indulgence of this Court in ensuring the same.

Protection Committee is directed to decide the application filed by the petitioner herein expeditiously in accordance with law, under intimation to the petitioners 10.
Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the present matter and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the SHO PS - Hazrat Nizamuddin, South-East District, Delhi is directed to provide adequate protection in case any such need arises to the petitioners from the accused persons and the petitioners are directed to provide their contact numbers to the concerned SHO and Beat Constable as well as the officers are also directed to provide their contact numbers of Beat Officer and SHO concerned to the petitioners.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners states that he is satisfied with this arrangement.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of. The pending application, if any, also stands disposed of. 13.
