On the last date of hearing, learned counsel for the respondent/NCERT had stated that there was a likelihood that the NCERT might be declared an Institute of national importance and a bill was proposed to be placed before the Parliament in this regard. 2.

Today, Mr.Shanker Raju, learned counsel for the petitioner hands over a copy of the National Council of Educational Research and Training Bill, 2017, for declaring the NCERT to be an Institution of national importance.

Learned Counsel for the respondent/NCERT submits that the said bill is likely to be tabled in the Parliament in the coming Monsoon Session. 4.

While taking on record a copy of the Notification dated 07.04.2017 issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, proposing to declare the NCERT along with its constituent units as an Institute of national importance along with the draft Bill, the present petition is disposed of.

In the event that the petitioners are not entitled to any relief after enactment of the Bill, they are given liberty to approach the Court for leave to revive the present petition.
