This is a petition filed under section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 109/2021 dated 14.02.2021 under section 498A/406/34 of IPC registered at PS Tilak Nagar. 2.

The parties have arrived at a settlement dated 30.08.2022 before Counselling Cell, Family Court, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi, wherein the petitioner had agreed to pay a sum of Rs. 3 lakhs to the respondent No. 2.

A sum of Rs. 2 lakhs has already been paid and for the remaining sum of Rs. 1 lakh, DD No. 093006 dated 01.10.2024 drawn on Punjab National Bank has been handed over to the respondent No. 2 4.

The petitioner is present in Court and is identified by Mr. Rajat Tanwar, leaned counsel. Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and is identified by Mr. Lalit Maini, learned counsel and SI Jatin, PS Tilak Nagar.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further.

In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

Hence, the aforesaid FIRs and the consequential proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.
