This writ petition has been filed on behalf of the Petitioner laying a challenge to the vacancy circular dated 03.09.2024 and subsequent appointments.

On 04.11.2024, notice was issued to the selected candidates. None has entered appearance despite service.

Ms. Nidhi Raman, learned counsel appearing on behalf of UOI submits that Respondent No.4 is no longer in service of the Central Wakf Council as he left on his own accord and in any case, this writ petition is rendered infructuous since vacancy circular was for a limited term of three months, which expire today. She also states, on instructions, that there is no proposal to extend the services of Respondent No.5 under the impugned vacancy circular.

Considering that the appointments under the vacancy circular dated 03.09.2024 were on purely contractual basis for a term of three months which expire today, this writ petition is disposed of as infructuous, leaving the questions of law and issues raised by the Petitioner open. 5.

Pending applications also stand disposed of.
