By way of this writ petition, she, therefore, seeks a direction upon MCD to provide the school-wise requirement of part-time Assistant Teachers (Punjabi) to the Punjabi Academy so that teachers such as the petitioner can be deployed.
5.
Dr. Divya Swamy, learned Standing Counsel for MCD, who appears on advance instructions, states that her instructions at this stage are that Punjabi language is not a part of the curriculum being offered. However, she states that no final decision has yet been formally taken. 6.
In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the MCD will take a final decision with regard to the deployment of Punjabi teachers in its schools within a period of three weeks from today, and communicate it to the Punjabi Academy. 7.
In the event any teachers are required, such teachers, including the petitioner, will be deployed through the Punjabi Academy in accordance with the required number and in consonance with past practice. 8.
The decision be communicated to the petitioner through her counsel within a period of one week thereafter.
