This is a petition seeking quashing of FIR No. 560/2018 dated 16.08.2018 u/s 354/506/509 IPC registered at PS Mehrauli. 2.

There are allegations that there was an altercation between the petitioner and respondent No. 2, wherein the petitioner misbehaved with respondent No. 2, which resulted in filing of the FIR. 3.

It is stated that the registration of FIR was on account of some misunderstanding regarding some petty issues. However, the same has been resolved.

The parties have arrived at a settlement, wherein respondent No. 2 has agreed to resolve her disputes and cooperate in quashing of the FIR. Petitioner is present in Court and is identified by Mr. Varun Singh, Adv. Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and is identified by IO SI Navin, PS Mehrauli.

Parties state that they have arrived at the settlement out of their own free will without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence. 7.

I am of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the FIR any further on the ground that the parties have arrived at a voluntary settlement and settled their disputes. 8.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings as permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 9.

In this view of the matter, FIR No. 560/2018 dated 16.08.2018 u/s 354/506/509 IPC registered at PS Mehrauli is hereby quashed. 10.

The petition is disposed of.
