W.P.(C) 1788/2016 The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to immediately approve the case of petitioner no. 1 for transplant of kidney from donor, who is petitioner no. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that petitioner no. 2, who is petitioner No. 1's domestic servant, has agreed to donate kidney to petitioner no. 1 who is suffering from multiple diseases along with end stage renal disease and has been on constant dialysis since 28th July, 2015.

It is stated that the delay by the respondents in granting authorisation for transplant may jeopardize the petitioner No.1's life.

Consequently, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the authorisation committee to decide the petitioners' representation on or before 04th March, 2016. This Court clarifies that it has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the controversy. Rights and contentions of all parties are left open.
