Present public interest petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent no. 2/Commissioner, Department of Transport to implement Rule 74 of the Delhi Motor Vehicle Rules, 1993 with immediate effect. 2.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner states that Rule 74 of the Rules, 1993 provides for installation of fare meters in auto rickshaw/taxis. He however states that since 2018 fare meters have not been in operation and the Respondents have not taken any steps to rectify the situation. He states that the Petitioner has made a representation dated 17th September, 2024 to Respondent no. 2 but has not received any response so far. 3.

Keeping in view the averments in the writ petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to Respondent no. 2 to decide the Petitioner's representation dated 17th September, 2024 in accordance with law within The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
