The petitioner is seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents i.e. respondent No.2/Commissioner of Police and respondent No.3/SHO3 Police Station Laxmi Nagar, for they allegedly being in wilful defiance of the directions contained in the order dated 10.07.2024 in W.P. (Crl) No. 2006/2024, passed by this Court.

No one is present for the respondents despite sending advance notice.

It is a matter of record that son of the petitioner is involved in two FIRs4 bearing No. 226/2022 dated 03.02.2022 registered at PS5 Laxmi Nagar under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ["IPC"]; and second FIR bearing No. 214/2022 registered at PS Shakarpur for offences punishable under Section Sections 307/427/34 IPC besides Section 25/27/54 of the Arms Act, 1959; and in both the 3 Station House Officer 4 First Information Report 5 Police Station The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. cases he has been declared as a „proclaimed offender‟. While retaining the right of the State to conduct investigation into such matters and pursue inquiries as to whereabouts of the son of the petitioner, it was also directed that since the petitioner is a senior citizen, she should not be unduly harassed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is being unduly harassed by the officials of PS Laxmi Nagar, who repeatedly visit her premises and inquire about the whereabouts of her son.

Evidently, the allegations in the contempt petition are general in nature and no specific instances are cited that would warrant an inference that the police officials have not been conducting themselves in a responsible manner.

Since, the police officials are acting in the course of their official duties, the present contempt petition does not lie and the same is accordingly dismissed.
