This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.382/2016, PS Hari Nagar, under Sections 279/338 IPC basis settlement dated 29th October, 2024 arrived at between the parties.

The petitioner is present in Court and respondent No.2 is present through VC, and both duly identified by the IO. 3.

As per the settlement, an amount of Rs.1,75,000/- has agreed to be paid to respondent No.2, out of which Rs.25,000/- has already been paid. A draft of Rs.1,50,000/- is being tendered today vide DD No.016896 drawn on HDFC Bank, which has been received by respondent No.2's Power of Attorney Mr. Taranjeet Singh Chaddha, who is present in Court. 4.

Accordingly, in view of the no objection of respondent No.2, the FIR stands quashed.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.382/2016, PS Hari Nagar, under Sections 279/338 IPC and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 8.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
