This is a writ petition filed on behalf of petitioner seeking directions to respondent No. 1 for providing Police protection to the petitioner. 2.

Learned counsel submits that petitioner had sold a portion of her property to respondent No. 2 for residential purposes. It is further submitted that on 28.03.2024, petitioner along with her daughters were assaulted and an FIR bearing No. 249/2024 under Sections 354/323/341/34 IPC has been registered in this regard against respondent Nos. 2 to 4. He further submits that on 27.07.2024, petitioner suffered a gunshot injury inflicted through a country-made pistol and regarding same, an FIR bearing No. 463/2024 under Section 109(1) of BNS, 2023 and Section 27 of Arms Act, was registered at Police Station Alipur. He further states that petitioner has also filed a civil suit against respondents, which is pending before learned Civil Judge.

Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned ASC appearing on behalf of respondent No. 1/State, who states that both parties are litigating against each other inasmuch as a cross FIR bearing No. 250/2024 has been registered against the present petitioner at the instance of respondents. However, she has no objection in case directions be issued for furnishing the mobile number of the concerned beat constables to the petitioner. 5.

The State is under constitutional obligation to provide protection to its citizens, and this Court, being a Constitutional Court, is expected to further the constitutional rights to the citizens.

State is, therefore, directed to provide protection to the petitioner and ensure that no harm befalls them. Mobile number of the beat constables of the concerned area be provided to the petitioner to enable her to seek Police assistance in case of immediate need. SHO of the concerned area shall duly counsel the beat staff.

The petition accordingly stands disposed of in terms of aforesaid directions.
