Present writ petition has been filed seeking constitution of a Court monitored special task force to identify the illegal construction/ encroachment in the name of religion and the persons who have carried out such construction. The petitioner further seeks a direction to appropriate authorities to remove such encroachments and demolish illegal religious structures.

The issue of illegal religious structures and encroachment is being dealt with in another writ petition being W.P.(C) No.13581/2018. There is also a religious committee of GNCTD which is in place to take care of the said issue and the same is presided over by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor.
