This petition seeks quashing of FIR No. 0622/2022 under Section 324 of the Indian Penal Code, 18601 registered at P.S. New Ashok Nagar. The chargesheet has since been filed under Section 326 IPC. 2.
As per the prosecution, the FIR was lodged on the complaint of the victim's mother, alleging that the Petitioner poured hot, boiling water on a minor child. The MLC records multiple burn injuries, including burns over the face, chest, upper back, upper limb, and knee, along with pain and burning sensations.

The Petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR, stating that the dispute between the parties have been amicably resolved. 4.

to the gravity of the assault, the fact that the victim is a minor, the seriousness of the burn injuries, and that the offence under Section 326 IPC is non-compoundable, the settlement between the Petitioner and the minor's mother cannot be accepted for the purpose of quashing. The nature and extent of the injuries prima facie indicate a serious assault causing grievous hurt.

Having regard to the principles laid down by the Supreme Court in Gian Singh v. State of Punjab & Anr,2 this Court finds no ground to exercise jurisdiction under Section 528 BNSS for quashing of the FIR. 6.
Dismissed.
