O R D E R

This is a writ petition filed by the petitioners with the following prayers:

"a. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, or direction, compelling the Respondent Police Authorities to provide round-the-clock police protection to the petitioners and their family with further directions to the Respondent Police Authorities to ensure that the petitioners can safely enter and reside peacefully in their home on the second floor of property No. 96, Block-PP, Pitampura, Delhi. b. Issue a direction to the Respondent Police Authorities to ensure that petitioners Shri Neeraj Katar can safely visit, develop, and secure his plot of land at Pooth Khurd, Delhi.

c. Issue a direction to the Respondent Police Authorities to ensure the petitioners can safely access and pursue legal proceedings before the District Courts, Rohini, without fear of assault or violence. d. Issue a direction to the Respondent Police Authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry into the criminal antecedents of the accused persons and their accomplices to unearth the full extent of their criminal activities and modus operandi.

e. Pass any other order or direction that this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice."

Learned counsel submits that petitioners are lawful residents of second floor portion of property no. 96, Block-PP, Pitampura, Delhi. A registered tenancy was created on 28.03.2025 in respect of the first floor in favour of respondent nos. 6 and 7. Soon thereafter, the tenants defaulted in payment of rent and inducted 10-12 strangers in the tenanted premises and started extorting money from the petitioners. 3.

It is submitted that respondent nos. 6 and 7 are extending threats to forcibly dispossess the petitioner no.1 from his plot with warnings of wiping out his family if he resisted transfer of said land. Petitioners apprehend threat to their life and their property from respondents nos. 6 and 7 and local police have failed to provide effective protection, leading to a genuine apprehension of grave danger to life, liberty and property of the petitioners. 4.

Learned ASC who appears for the State submits that no complaint has been received from the petitioners.

It is the duty of the State to provide protection to all citizens and this Court being the Constitutional court is expected to further the Constitutional rights of the citizens.

In that view of the matter, the Court directs the State to provide protection to the petitioners and ensure that no harm befalls on them, particularly from respondent Nos. 6 and 7.
