Petitioner is defending a commercial suit and is aggrieved by order dated 01.10.2024 whereby his application seeking amendment in the written statement has been dismissed by the learned Trial Court and, simultaneously, he has been burdened with exemplary cost of Rs.50,000/-.

After hearing arguments for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner, without prejudice to his rights and contentions, states that he does not press his present petition but merely requests that the cost, being excessive and exorbitant, be reduced, substantially. 3.

There is no appearance from the side of the respondent despite advance service.

Be that as it may, in view of the aforesaid statement made by learned counsel for the petitioner and after taking a holistic view of the entire matter, the present petition is disposed of as not pressed with the CM(M) 3765/2024 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. modification that the cost of Rs.50,000/-, as imposed by the learned Trial Court vide order dated 01.10.2024, stands reduced to Rs.10,000/-. 5.
