This Petitioner is a life convict in FIR No. 261/2004 under Sections 302/307/365/387/120-B/34 of IPC registered at P.S. Shalimar Bagh. He was granted parole on 15th October, 2025 which was then extended on 17th November, 2025 for a period of four weeks.

The petitioner has once again sought extension of parole for an additional period of four weeks, on the ground that his aged mother is suffering from a heart ailment, and construction of his house remains incomplete.

Mr. Sanjay Lao, SC for the State, submits that in terms of Rules 1212 of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018, a convict is entitled to parole for a maximum period of eight weeks in a year, and no further extension is The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. permissible beyond the said statutory limit. Counsel for the petitioner has also not been able to point out any provision under the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018 which would entitle the petitioner to seek further extension of parole. 4.

In view of the above statutory position, the prayer made in the application cannot be acceded to. The application is accordingly dismissed. 5.

Ms. Vrinda Bhandari, Advocate, stands discharged from the present petition.
