By way of these petitions, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 226/2019, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 147/149/ 506/308/323/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and FIR bearing no. 227/2019, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/341/506/34 of the IPC, both registered at Police Station Sarita Vihar and the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.

The petitioners and the complainants in both the aforementioned FIRs are present before this Court and have been identified by their respective counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Sarita Vihar, Delhi.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 27.06.2019, a quarrel had taken place between the parties, as a result of which, both the aforementioned FIRs were registered against each other under the relevant sections. It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Memorandum of Understanding dated 15.09.2025, entered between them.

On a query made by this Court, the complainants, who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. has been amicably settled between the parties and they further state that they have no objection if both these FIRs are quashed. 7.
In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIRs and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIRs in question. 8.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 226/2019, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 147/149/ 506/308/323/34 of the IPC and FIR bearing no. 227/2019, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/341/506/34 of the IPC, both registered at Police Station Sarita Vihar and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 9.
In view of the above, the present petitions stand disposed of. 10.
