The petitioner is a practicing lawyer and has filed this Public Interest Litigation Petition with the allegations of certain discrepancies/illegalities in the result of the recruitment process held for appointment for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots pursuant to centralized employment notice no. CEN 01/2024 issued by Railway Recruitment Board.

The contention of the petitioner is that on account of various discrepancies in preparation and declaration of result of the said selection process, thousands of candidates are suffering. On being pointed out that ordinarily a Public Interest Litigation Petition in disputes relating to service matters would not be maintainable and further that if any candidate is aggrieved by the impugned action on the part of the Railway Recruitment Board, he will have a cause of action to institute the proceedings of a writ The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. petition himself, the petitioner prays that he may be permitted to withdraw the writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, we may observe that notwithstanding dismissal of the instant PIL, if any grievance before any Forum including before this Court is raised by individual candidates to the aforesaid selection process, such grievances shall be considered and decided in accordance with law.

We may also observe that this order should not be construed as our expression on merit of the claims of the respective parties.
