This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 9 months on the ground that the documents were voluminous and the recording of evidence took some time. 5.

In addition, it is also stated that the Authorised Representative of the petitioner met with an accident and was unable to attend proceedings. 6.

notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed.

For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. The petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 9 months from today to make and publish the Award.

The period from 11.01.2024 till today stands regularised. 9.

Since Mr. Harshit Agarwal, learned counsel is appearing on behalf of the petitioner and undertakes to file his fresh Vakalatnama, the Vakalatnama of Chopra Law Offices stands withdrawn.
