Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite best efforts, the petitioners have not been able to ascertain the whereabouts of the legal heirs of the respondent, who is stated to have expired on 18.08.2019.

In these circumstances, taking into account that vide the impugned order the petitioners were directed to pay to the respondent arrears towards the difference of pay and allowances for the period between 01.11.2003 to 26.11.2009 which amount was not paid on account of the interim stay granted by this Court on 15.07.2014, we see no reason to keep the present writ petition pending any further.
